Hair Envy

I have supidly curly, untamable hair and it is Driving. Me. Insane!
Its too much effort to straighten it all the time, and when I wear it curly its like a box of chocolates- I never know what I'm going to get! (Sorry...that was terrible).

This is what makes me so supremely jealous of Carrie Bradshaw.
NOW I understand that this is a fictional character and that she had a team of hairstylists fussing over her, most likely for several hours, to get this amazingness to happen, but can't you just let me live the fantasy? I'm going to continue to live in my dream world where hopefully one day I will wake up and my curls will magically have begun to behave and look as amazing as this...

P.s. I LOVE that red heart necklace & those red pointy shoes!

Summertime...

Even though its not the best summer weather today, alternating between muggy and raining (sorry Oprah), I'm hopeful for at least a proper summery Christmas. Looking at these pictures just make me crave a proper summer even more!

I LOVELOVELOVE this picture...I need to find this tree!

I don't really enjoy driving, but theres just something about driving with the window down when the air smells like summer...

All The Cool Kids...

...Ride Bikes!

So need to get a cool bicycle...I walk past Clarence St Cyclery every day and they have some of the COOLEST bicycles in the windows in gorgeous colours. I can just imagine myself riding them through a park or something. Although, being me, falling off them in a park is probably a more accurate scenario...

Still, at least I'd look cool doing it.

Things I need in my life

A cape, need to track one down before winter...

Some leopard print

A vintage breifcase that looks all battered and bashed up to use as my handbag

I wish...

I really wish I was cool enough to wear my coat effortlessly hanging from my shoulders like this. I'm too much of a gumby and would definately lose my coat if I tried, but it just looks so elegant and cool. I imagine Grace Kelly would have worn her coat like this...

Carine

Ok, word association time!

Vogue Editor?

Now, personally I think about 90% of the population is going to say 'Anna Wintour'
Well, ok, 90% of the population of people that give a shit...

Anna has that classic American New-York-Upper-East-Side thing going on, and you kind of get the impression that she's a bit cold?! Personally, I've never been able to really get into America Vogue...Anna just isn't my style.

But Carine! Ahhh Carine Roitfeld- the Rock Star of the Vogue editors. Now this is a woman you want to party with! Impeccable style, takes risks and she just looks like she would be so much fun!

Annie Leibovitz

I'm super excited about the Annie Leibovitz exhibit that's coming to the MCA in Sydney next year. She has such a distinctive style and no-one take a portrait like Annie!

However, some of my favourite photo's of hers are the fairytale-themed series' she has done. In particular, I remember seeing the Alice In Wonderland photos with Natalia Vodianova back when I was in school. I think these photos were my first introduction to a lot of these designers, and Natalia is just the perfect Alice.

Alice In Wonderland

Here with Oliver Theyskens (As Lewis Carol) in Rochas
In Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent with Tom Ford as the White Rabbit
 In Helmut Lang
In Marc Jacobs, Marc Jacobs as the Catepillar
With Karl Lagerfeld in Chanel Haute Couture
With Jean Paul Gaultier as the Cheshire Cat, wearing Jean Paul Gaultier
Viktor & Rolf as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum
With Christian Lacroix as the March Hare (Stephen Jones is the Mad Hatter), wearing Christian Lacroix Haute Couture
John Galliano as the Queen of Hearts (LOVE this!), Natalia wearing Dior Haute Couture
WIth Donatella Versace and Rupert Everett, Natalia wearing Atelier Versace
Through the Looking Glass- With Nicholas Ghesquiere, Natalia in Balenciaga

So beautiful and whimsical, and could John Galliano be any more perfect as the Queen of Hearts! I love when designers don't take themselves so seriously...

Seriously can't wait for the exhibition!
